Bishan and Toa Payoh URA Master Plan 2019

Bishan and Toa Payoh are centrally located towns with easy access to amenities. Residents will benefit from new recreational and community facilities, as well as new housing and improved connectivity through new cycling paths and park connectors. They can also look forward to more job opportunities closer to home at the Bishan sub-regional centre, and shorter commute times with the new Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) and Cross Island Line 1 (CRL1) MRT lines.

NEW NURSING HOMES
New nursing homes will be established in peaceful locations at Potong Pasir Ave 1, along the Kallang River, and at Venus Drive near Windsor Nature Park. The nursing home at Potong Pasir will also feature a senior care center.

NEW MRT STATIONS
Bright Hill Station will serve as an interchange for the upcoming TEL and CRL1 MRT lines, set to be completed by 2020 and 2029, respectively. Residents will also benefit from the new Upper Thomson TEL Station.

BISHAN SUB-REGIONAL CENTRE
With excellent public transport links, the Bishan Sub-Regional Centre (SRC) will be transformed into a hub for employment, integrated with community facilities to support both residents and workers.

UPGRADED COMMUNITY CLUBS & RELOCATED BISHAN NORTH COMMUNITY CLUB
A new gym for seniors and additional facilities will enhance services at the upgraded Bishan Community Club. Residents can also anticipate a refreshed Thomson Community Club and the new Bishan North Community Club, which will be co-located with Eunoia Junior College. Additionally, Toa Payoh West Community Club will undergo upgrades and be co-located with a new NKF dialysis center.

MT. ALVERNIA EXPANSION
Mount Alvernia Hospital will expand its services with a new wing, focusing on family-centered healthcare.

TOA PAYOH COMMUNITY HUB
The Toa Payoh Town Centre will be revitalized to include a dynamic sports and community hub. Plans are underway to integrate Toa Payoh Town Park with new sports and community facilities, offering residents a convenient, all-in-one destination in the heart of Toa Payoh.

ENHANCING INTER- AND INTRA-TOWN CONNECTIVITY
A continuous walking and cycling route will boost connectivity from Bishan, Toa Payoh, and other towns along the Kallang River to the city center. Residents can look forward to new park connectors, an upgraded underpass beneath the CTE, and a new cycling bridge over Braddell Road and the PIE.

Future residents of Chuan Park will be able to enjoy the development in Bishan and Toa Payoh with more business and job opportunity, better living lifestyle, and also conveniency of travelling around the Island.
